Blogging Nekkid© is a book project by Whitni Baker.

Hi!  I'm Whitni Baker.

I, like so many of you, am an avid blog reader.  I love blogs!  Blogging has come a long way since the early '80's.  If you've never had a chance, you should take a look at the interesting history of blogs at Wikipedia.  Blogging is changing our world.

I am not a teacher or a doctor or anything special.  I'm a married woman with two daughters.  I live in Arizona with my family and our three dogs, two cats, tortoise, boa and a frog.  I work a normal job and live a normal life (as normal as life can be).  I've done some freelance writing on and off for years, as time permitted.  My point is, I'm simply a normal person, living my life.  I just happen to have discovered blogs, along with the rest of the world.

I started reading blogs many years ago when my teen-aged daughter started writing her own.  I found that I could learn so much about my daughter's life simply by reading her blogs.  Needless to say, it didn't stop there!

Soon after discovering this new world of blogging, I was off exploring other people's blogs.  At first I was reading blogs from people that I was acquainted with.  I then moved on to reading blogs from people who were blogging about topics that I was currently interested in learning about.  Now, I just simply head out and read blogs that I find wherever, just because they are there.  I love to go read random blogs!

There are so many people out there in this world with a blog site.  Many have more than one!  I tend to avoid the celebrity blogs, band blogs and mainstream news blogs.  There is something beautiful about personal blogs.  The fact that I can go on-line and read about a person's day in another city or country that I've never heard of is astounding!

When I read blogs, I normally find a random blogger and start reading every single blog that they have posted.  Sometimes, it's boring.  Sometimes, it's not.  I have found that even in the "boring" blogs, there is normally something buried that will make all of this reading worthwhile.  There is normally a "nugget" buried somewhere.  I usually find it and when I do, everyone around me knows about it.  I'm so quick to call my daughters over to read it or I simply have to read it outloud to whoever wants to listen (or is lucky enough to be in the room.)  Sometimes, the nugget is so thought provoking or provocative that I don't want to speak.  I simply want to treasure it before moving on.

I created Blogging Nekkid© based on my "nugget" philosophy.  We are all such busy people, living our busy lives.  Most of us don't have time to sit and read all the blogs that we come across to find that one great blog.  It would be nice if we could, but we would be sitting and reading blogs seven days a week, 24 hours a day and we could still never read them all.  In as much, I decided it was time for someone to start making collections or compilations of blogs so that we could all enjoy the "nuggets" much easier.

I spend hours each day, reading and exploring blogs.  I collect them along with the author's information and, with permission from each author, am able to share them with the world.  Blogging Nekkid© is the first book dedicated entirely to blog readers.

Enjoy!
